The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Program is designed for STNAs and Direct Care Workers who want to enhance their skills and responsibilities. This short-term course combines classroom learning and hands-on clinical experience to prepare you for certification and employment in Ohio.

You’ll Learn To:
Administer medications accurately under nurse supervision
Document medication administration and patient responses
Communicate effectively with residents and healthcare teams
Follow safety and infection-control procedures
To qualify for the CMA program, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a high school diploma or GED
Provide a negative TB test
Complete a physical exam
Pass a criminal background check
Submit a photo ID and Social Security card
Hold a valid CPR and First Aid (or BLS) certification
Demonstrate English reading and writing proficiency (8th-grade level or higher)
All applicants must complete a nonrefundable application and submit all required documents before enrollment is confirmed.

Week 1: Mon/Wed/Fri (Online) 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Week 2: Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri (In-person) 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
September 26 (HYBRID)
Week 1: Mon/Wed/Fri (Online) 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Week 2: Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri (In-person) 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Clinicals: Thursday and Friday only during Week 2, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Program Fee: $975 (Day & Evening) – $200 deposit required to hold your seat
If applying for financing, please include an additional $200 for study materials and exam certification cost.

COVID Tests and Screens may be conducted on all students that enter our Lab and/or Clinical Site. If a student tests positive for COVID 19, 1st Choice Career Centers will follow CDC recommended guidelines and the positive student may be placed on hold from attending in-person classes and the hold duration will be based on CDC recommendations.
