CNA Course

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), also known in Ohio as a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), plays a vital role on the healthcare team by providing essential patient care and daily living support. At 1st Choice Career Centers, our 2–4 week CNA program prepares you to pass the Ohio Nurse Aide Competency Exam and begin a rewarding healthcare career.

Skills you will learn include:

• Feeding and nutrition assistance

• Bathing, grooming, and hygiene care

• Taking and recording vital signs

• Safe patient transportation and mobility support

• Resident rights and communication

• Infection prevention and control

• Safety and emergency procedures

• Mental health and restorative services

Our training combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical practice, giving you the knowledge and confidence to succeed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health.

Enrollment Criteria

To qualify to this program, you must:

• At least 16 years of age
• Negative TB Test or screening
• Clear Physical
• Pass a Criminal Background Check
• Photo ID and Social Security Card
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and comprehension at an 8th grade level

Every student who wants to attend the school must first complete an application with a nonrefundable application fee.

The student must also furnish a copy of their photo ID, and social security card. The student then will be notified by email or phone call confirm admittance into the school.
